Rutland Charter Township Cemetery Cleanup
As per our Cemetery Ordinance #2021-178 adopted November 10, 2021, borders will no longer be allowed on cemetery lots. Also, all mounds, memorials, decorations, or benches that hinder the free use of a lawn mower or other gardening apparatus are prohibited. All urns and decorations shall be set in line with the stone within the boundaries of each grave site.
The timeline to remove and bring all cemetery lots into compliance will be Labor Day 2022. We ask that you complete your cleanup by then. After that the township will be cleaning it up and we want to make sure all the memorabilia goes to the right people.
